As the national skills body, Skills Development Scotland (SDS) supports the people and businesses of Scotland by delivering services that help them to achieve their ambitions.
With careers advisers in secondary schools and high street centres across the country, SDS staff are passionate about developing skills in the community and their contribution to a modern, innovative and prosperous Scottish economy.
SDS also supports and promotes work based learning and apprenticeships which offer young people the chance to get a job, get paid and get qualified.
More than 25,500 people start Modern Apprenticeships each year, with over 80 different types from financial services and healthcare to construction and IT.
SDS is supporting business and industry to meet Scottish Government targets to provide 30,000 new Modern Apprenticeship starts each year by 2020.
New Foundation Apprenticeships mean young people can also now start a Modern Apprenticeship at school while Graduate Level Apprenticeships provide employees with work based learning opportunities to degree level.
Find out more about apprenticeship opportunities at www.apprenticeships.scot where employers can also post vacancies for free.
